Name- Calidius Triarius Liontius Lupus II
Age-42
Gender- Male
Species- Black-tailed Prairie dog
Occupation and Home- Chief Guard of Suthgrund, Suthgrund
Alignment-Lawful Good
Appearance- Calidius is heavy-bodied rodent standing five foot five at the shoulder, with a short black-tipped tail and brownish-tan fur that turns almost white on the underbelly. He is big, a bigness of large heavy bone, thick ropey tendon and rippling muscle rather then flesh. He has a strong cleft lip, with his long yellow front tooth pushing out between the two flaps of skin. The right side of his face is a mass of pinkish scar tissue, completely covering over his eye leaving one ear simply an open hole and going down as far as his jaw line. He has heavy broad shoulders and a wide barrel chest, ending in two muscular limbs. He has a short nose and whiskers with large eyes that carry a flat ferocious stare, rarely showing any sign of humor or merriment. He walks in a slow methodical way as if plotting every step, with the alertness of a trained warrior. He wears a heavily embossed suit of lorica segmentata, with steel greaves and large red plumed helm that has a movable cross peace that can be dropped down over his face. A black tabard and cape drape over his armor and are cinched to his waist by a heavy leather belt.
Personality- Driven, Methodical, Systematic, Honorable and Disciplined these are words to describe Calidius. Born to a long military line, he has been raised to know, do, and accept his duty without question. In this he thoroughly excels, and he expects the same from all of his soldiers. There is no room in his mind for failure, or weakness as his duty to Suthgrund takes precedent over relationships, sleep, even his own life. He is hard, tactical and a beast of few words, but yet he does on occasion show a softer side and has been known to crack a joke out of the blue, flooring his surrounding officers. He speaks in a deep bass voice with a slight lisp due to his deformity. His laugh is loud and booming filling even the largest of rooms. He is a consummate pessimist believing whole heartedly in the motto “hope for the best and plan for the worst”. With this in mind he constantly trains himself and his army pushing the limits of their mental and physical exhaustion every day, knowing that the time will come when their way of life will hang on every second of preparation they have. He is grim and fearless having looked death in the face on many occasions. When asked why he is so brave in the face of terrible odds he simply says “When death smiles at you the only thing you can do is smile back.”

History- Born the only surviving child in a line of Chief Guards of Suthgrund, Calidius had to fight for every inch in his life. Due to his deformity the title was set to go to his cousin Felicianus who was about the same age, but the boy was fat and lazy and Calidius surpassed him quickly in strength and skill. He rose rapidly in the prairie dog ranks attaining the rank of Centurion at the age of twenty three. His father who had remained distant and cold his whole life, finally saw his son for what he was. And set to teach him all he knew, with the amassed knowledge of ten generation of great generals nothing could stop Calidius’s rise to power. His father died at the old age of fifty nine from a long bout of pneumonia, and Calidius was appointed Chief Guard of Suthgrund. He immediately begin hardening his army into the fighting force they are now, sending them out on regular excursions to clear the surrounding area of vermin. It was in such an excursion that Calidius lost his eye and ruined his face. Calidius was leading a group of thirty of his most elite soldiers on a training exercise when they were ambushed by a mob of vermin, led by a monster of a Grizzly. Although out numbered three to one Calidius’s forces triumphed but not without harm fifteen of his best lay dead on the field and he himself almost died. For in the last moments of battle he met the bear in single combat and despite the sheer ferocity and power of the beast’s attacks he managed to score several deep hits even sheering off a chunk of the it’s nose. But with a roar that tore the sky the bear slammed his massive paw down and shattered Calidius’s shield, and ripping across his face. With mighty thrust bore of desperation Calidius drove his sword into the beast’s lung and sent it fleeing into the wilderness, its remaining horde hot on its heels. He was taken back to Suthgrund were he recovered and in a ceremony praising his bravery, his name came to pass, the two sides after four ties to add either Liontius or Lupus to the end of his name decided to add both and so Calidius Triarius became Calidius Triarius Liontius Lupus the Chief Guards of Suthgrund.
